Chapter 5 Short Answer

  1. Name one new type of software you discovered in your research most likely to be included in a digital classroom. Tell us about it.     A software I discovered was Kahoot. This platform is for teachers to make quizzes and reviews for students to take and talk about as a class. It takes a poll of what the students answered. Students can also make their own Kahoots for review purposes to share with peers. The teacher is able to see the level of understanding for each student. There is also ghost mode which a student can take the kahoot and later on after learning can compete against themselves so they can personally see the improvement they have made throughout a subject.  2. Experiential Learning

 Mr. Braaflat's 5th Grade Classroom Learning     Mr. Braaflat's class came in for the day and knew to grab their computers from the cart and go to their desk. He uses Google Classroom to set up information for the day so students know what to expect and ca easily access information anytime. They started with a choice of a video or article on states of matter. The students seemed to enjoy the quiet in the morning and being able to choose how they were going to get an intro into today's subject.  google-classroom-logo.png      After students were done with the article and video he had set up three different stations for the students to observe. He discussed with them the different types of matter and then explained the stations. One had rocks, a pencil, ice, and old play do-oh, the second had juice and water, then the third had balloons to fill up and water with dawn they could mix to blow with a straw to make bubbles.
